Although this May looks much different than years past, due to the COVID-19 crisis, Southside UMC knows it is going to be an AMAYZING May. We're going to use this month to focus on God's call for His followers to live a generous life. Each week in May, we'll focus on a different theme of generosity and provide resources including: daily scripture readings, action steps to support our Mission partners during this time and much more!

Weekly Mission Focus

During AMAYZING May, we'll pick a different Mission partner to highlight and support each week. During this unique season with COVID-19, we can't connect with our mission partners in the way we are accustomed to, but that doesn't mean we can't still support them with love and prayer. Find this week's mission focus below and check-out some of the ways you can support them in this season!

Santiago de las Vegas, Cuba

Southside supports its sister church in Santiago de las Vegas, Cuba through financial support, prayer, and other means. We are blessed by their prayers as well.

Week 4: Generous with a Hopeful Message

May is such a beautiful month.  Spring is in the air.  It is amazing!  It is a blessing!  Southside UMC wants to talk about how we are amazingly blessed.  In the Bible, God’s people receive and impart blessings from God and one-another.  So we will offer a daily Bible verse that speaks about an amazing blessing.  Enjoy the blessing.  These blessings start out with the words: “May the LORD bless you …” We want the blessing to flow to you and to others.  When God blesses, He is imparting His favor upon us.  When we as people bless others, we are asking God to send His favor upon other people.  When we receive that blessing, that Godly favor, we are enriched.  We can take that Spiritual enrichment and turn around and bless others with it.
